Valerie Kelley-Bonner, MBA, CPC-R, CCHW, CPHT is the Founder of Strategies to Overcome Obstacles and Avoid Recidivism (SOOAR) and the CEO and Lead Consultant of Strategic Transitions Consulting. With more than 20 years of professional and community experience, she is dedicated to equipping individuals and organizations with the tools to thrive. Her expertise spans keynote speaking, empowerment coaching, leadership development, harm reduction, and life skills training.
Valerie’s career is rooted in both professional achievement and lived experience. Growing up in an environment marked by trauma, drugs, and alcohol, she transformed those challenges into a lifelong commitment to addressing the systemic issues impacting youth, families, and communities. Her ability to connect authentically with people from all walks of life is fueled by resilience, vision, and purpose.
She holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBA in Nonprofit Administration, and is a Certified Prevention Consultant (CPC-R), Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW), and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT). In addition, she serves on multiple boards. Valerie continues to inspire change, dismantle barriers, and create pathways for healthier communities.
