Botvin Life Skills

The Botvin LifeSkills Training program, developed by Dr. Gilbert J. Botvin, is a nationally recognized, evidence-based curriculum supported by over 30 studies and endorsed as a Model Program by the U.S. Department of Education and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.

As a certified trainer, I prepare individuals and teams to deliver this proven program with confidence and fidelity—building internal capacity for effective, sustainable prevention. Rather than focusing solely on substance use risks, LifeSkills Training equips participants with the tools to make healthy decisions, manage stress, and build resilience.

Through this Train-the-Trainer course, participants learn how to:

  • Teach resistance to peer and social pressures

  • Build confidence, decision-making, and self-management skills

  • Support stress and emotion regulation

  • Facilitate meaningful conversations about substance use and its impact

  • Strengthen communication, assertiveness, and social skills

Upon completion, participants are equipped to implement an evidence-based, skills-driven prevention program that promotes long-term health and well-being.
