Overdose Prevention & Naloxone Training

Audience: Community members, outreach workers, educators, faith leaders, law enforcement, and anyone interested in saving lives.

Description:
This interactive training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize, respond to, and prevent opioid overdoses. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the opioid crisis, risk factors for overdose, and the importance of harm reduction in keeping individuals and communities safe.

Through real-world examples and guided practice, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.

  • Safely administer Naloxone (Narcan®) to reverse an overdose.

  • Understand the Good Samaritan Law and legal protections when responding to an emergency.

  • Use an Overdose Prevention Guide to create personalized safety and response plans.

  • Engage compassionately with individuals who use substances and reduce stigma surrounding addiction.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to confidently respond to an overdose and connect individuals to support and recovery resources. Each participant will receive an Overdose Prevention Guide and a free Naloxone kit.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of overdose risk and response.

  • Practical hands-on experience with Naloxone administration.

  • Strengthened capacity to support harm reduction and community wellness.
